[Chatham, NJ – July 2, 2026] Shipco Transport, a leading global neutral NVOCC, is proud to announce the opening of a new office in Bridgetown, Barbados. Over the past six years, Shipco has expanded its regional footprint to include Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Puerto Rico, reinforcing its commitment to the Caribbean market.
Barbados plays an important role in Eastern Caribbean trade, supported by its strategic location, and strong connectivity to major East-West and North-South trade corridors. The expansion of the Port of Bridgetown, including a recently announced $213.5 million project, further strengthens the island-nation’s ability to support cargo movement across the region.
The new Barbados office extends Shipco’s neutral service platform in the Caribbean, giving freight forwarders and customs brokers access to Ocean Less-than-Container Load (LCL), Full Container Load (FCL), and Airfreight solutions. The office will enhance regional connectivity through additional routing options and provide dedicated support from an experienced team.
Rachel Matthews, Caribbean General Manager, highlighted the value of the expansion and the opportunities it created across the market. “Having a physical presence in Barbados delivers greater agility and responsiveness for customers. Our freight solutions and digital tools, in combination with our expertise and commitment, positions us as a strong partner in the Barbadian market. Forwarders and customs brokers will be able to move beyond handling and clearance, giving them greater control of cargo and the ability to expand their service offering when they partner with Shipco.”
As a founding member of the WorldWide Alliance and the AirCargoGroup, Shipco connects customers to a trusted global network of NVOCC partners while maintaining committed to its neutral business model.
Central to that model is Shipco’s exclusive focus on supporting freight forwarders and customs brokers, reinforced by a strong partnership-driven approach. “Customers working with Shipco can be confident that their business relationships are protected. We are here to support the forwarding and brokerage community and our logistics partners, not compete with them,” Matthews said.
